Passing the Torch

It has been an incredible experience to lead the 2019-20 Campaign as United Way Elgin Middlesex’s Chief ChangeMaker. Our community is filled with amazing people who are willing to sacrifice their time and dollars to help change local lives. There is real joy in meeting people whose lives have been changed by programs and services made possible by the generosity of our donors and amazing volunteers, and knowing you helped make a difference.

I am extremely grateful for each of our volunteers who donated their time and talents to our community through their work with United Way over the past year. Every meeting attended, every event organized, every ticket sold, and every meal cooked, made a real impact in the lives of our community’s most vulnerable people.

Annually, we recognize those volunteers who went above and beyond with our ChangeMakers Awards. Although this year we could not be together, we celebrated our award winners with social media shout-out’s and specially prepared gift baskets from local businesses highlighting their unique contributions to our community.

As I step down from my role as Chief ChangeMaker, I am excited to pass the baton to the 2020 United Way Campaign Chair Trevor Squires, General Manager at McCormick Canada. Trevor is a dedicated leader and will serve our community well in this challenging time.
