United Way Unification

United Ways of Elgin St. Thomas and London & Middlesex
are unifying effective February 13, 2017

Dear Community Partners,

We are pleased to announce that on February 8, 2017, our respective Boards of Directors met and passed motions unifying our United Ways.
Effective today, we will become one legal entity known as United Way Elgin-Middlesex, governed by one Board of Directors, chaired by Lynn Logan, with regional representation. While regionally known as United Way Elgin-Middlesex, each respective United Way will retain its local name and brand.
Kelly Ziegner, the current CEO of United Way London & Middlesex will become the CEO of our newly unified organization. Funds raised by each United Way will continue to be invested to support people in their respective communities. Local staff and volunteers will maintain control over investment decisions which support their community’s highest priority needs.

Over the past several months, we have had a chance to work more closely with one another at the Board and staff level and believe wholeheartedly that we will be stronger together. We aim for the following long-term outcomes from our unification:
• Greater collective impact and improved ability to change lives
• Better support for local communities
• Greater regional involvement and participation
• A more effective and efficient organization
We are excited with what lies ahead for our communities.

Together, we are possibility,

Lynn Logan
