Thanks to the overwhelming generosity of our community, United Way Elgin Middlesex will invest $5,242,110 in 72 programs at 43 agencies through the Community Fund in 2021-22. This exceptional achievement in a pandemic year will help local social services meet increasing needs as our region recovers from the COVID-19 crisis.

United Way works so that every person in every community across our region has a fair shot at their best life. As the largest non-government funder of social services in Elgin and Middlesex counties, we tackle issues linked to poverty and social exclusion through strategic leadership, advocacy and investment in programs proven to get results. Donations stay 100% local, always.
Funding decisions are made by staff, trained Allocations Volunteers and our Board of Directors, all committed to meeting the community’s most urgent needs. We deeply value our partnership with funded agencies and are inspired by the remarkable resilience and innovation they’ve shown this past pandemic year.
As our community embarks on a tenuous recovery, the coming year will be our biggest challenge yet. Working together, we are confident we can build a resilient and thriving community where everyone matters.
Investing in agencies through our Community Fund is just one of the ways that United Way works to improve lives locally. More details about the scope of our work including grants, advocacy and community leadership will be released in our Impact Report in late April. Audited financial statements will be available on our website following our AGM on June 16, 2021.
