Nominations open for Labour Awards

It has been a noteworthy and award-worthy year for Labour members who have United to help support brothers and sisters and neighbours-in-need.

Even while many of us have struggled to keep up to rising costs and shrinking resources, good folks in the Labour movement have stood up, fought for fairness and reached out to help others.

Now, it’s time to recognize and honour their outstanding contributions to helping make this a community where everyone belongs.

Please nominate local Labour members in London, St. Thomas and Elgin and Middlesex counties who have done good things, mobilized friends and co-workers, and made things happen.

The deadline to submit nominations is March 21st, 2024. You can nominate more than one person for any award.

A committee of peers – winners of the 2022 Labour Appreciation Awards, will select the best of the year’s best, who will be honoured during this year’s awards celebration on May 28, 2024.

There are four nomination/awards categories:

The Labour Appreciation Award, for individual Local Union members who in 2023 took action, inspired folks to unite and offered hope, optimism, and kindness to others.
The Change Maker Award, for a group, committee or club that makes a substantial change in our community at a grassroots level.

Partnering with a Purpose, for a group of dedicated people who worked collaboratively and collectively to create a community where everyone matters.

The Jim MacKinnon Community Builder Award, recognizing local activists connected to the building trades who go out of their way to make our community a place of opportunity and hope for everyone.
