This virtual celebration highlights United Way’s Campaign Champions, the mobilizers and the stand-up citizens who go above and beyond, who inspire their colleagues and communities to take action, show their local love and change lives.
Through award presentations and videos, the event recognizes the incredible volunteerism and innovation of workplaces across Elgin and Middlesex.

Labour Appreciation Awards Night

Every year United Way Elgin Middlesex, in partnership with Labour United, recognizes local labour community activists who go above and beyond to ensure everyone in this region has a fair shot at their best life. With the many issues our community has faced in the last year alone, we are privileged to honour and celebrate our local activists and heroes who work tirelessly for social justice.
Day of Caring®
June 19, 2025
Day of Caring brings our community together, demonstrating the power of volunteering and what we can get done when we are united in local love.
In one afternoon, teams of volunteers from 25 local workplaces, travel across the area to visit and offer help to dozens of local agencies. Volunteers get together in this fun-with-a-purpose team building event that makes a huge difference to volunteers, their employers, and agencies’ staff and the people they serve.

For over 20 Years, the 3M Harvest Lunch has brought our community to enjoy good food, and has been a staple in the community. The event also serves as the unofficial launch of our annual Community Campaign. Each year, hundreds of people gather over lunch to network, reconnect after the summer, and “pay it forward” by funding community food programs.
United for Strategic Impact

This exclusive event brings together United Way’s 100 most generous supporters to learn more about the key issues facing our community, hear stories from those working on the front lines and the people they work with, and to see the impact of their significant contributions.
United Way Plane Pull
October 22, 2025
Let’s pull together! Teams of up to 15 participants will gather on the tarmac at London International Airport to pull a 40,000 pound airplane!
For our very first Plane Pull, United Way Elgin Middlesex is proud to be partnering with Western University’s Centre for Aviation Management (CAM) — a unique centre within the DAN Department of Management & Organizational Studies. Registration is open now!
Ultimate Burger Battle
November 1-30, 2025
Participating Restaurants each create an “Ultimate Burger”, and all month donate $2 from each burger sold to United Way.
A committee of local celebrity Ambassadors visit the restaurants to sample and vote on their favourite burger. Restaurants compete for Ultimate Burger (as judged by Ambassadors, Most Popular (as voted on by the public) and Top Selling Burger. Learn more here!
