Day of Caring®
June 13, 2024
Day of Caring brings our community together, demonstrating the power of volunteering and what we can get done when we are united in local love.
In one afternoon, our mighty team of volunteers from across 25 local workplaces, help more than 30 local agencies complete important tasks that fall outside of regular operations for their frontline staff. Volunteers get together in this fun-with-a-purpose team building event that makes a huge difference to volunteers, their employers, and agencies’ staff and the people they serve.

3M Harvest Lunch and United Way Elgin Middlesex
Campaign Launch
September 18, 2024
ST. THOMAS – Elgin County Railway Museum
September 25, 2024
LONDON – Market Square at Covent Garden Market
For decades, the 3M Harvest Lunch and United Way Elgin Middlesex Campaign Launch has been a staple in the community. It kick-starts our new Campaign season. Each year, thousands of people gather over lunch to network, reconnect after the summer, and learn about their community.
Our revamped “pay-it-forward” model, which received an IABC Virtuoso Award of Excellence, will continue this year at two different locations within our community – RBC Place London and the Horton Farmers’ Market in St. Thomas! We will also be celebrating in-person with live music and a lunch time full of fun. Each ticket purchases lunch for both the participant and a neighbour in need in support of our London, St.Thomas, Elgin, and Middlesex food security programs and services.
United for Strategic Impact
October 22, 2024 | RiverBend Golf Community
When we make major investments in our community, we make major impact in the lives of local people.
This exclusive by-invitation-only event brings together United Way’s 100 most generous supporters to learn more about the key issues facing our community, hear stories from those working on the front lines and the people they work with, and to see the impact of their significant contributions.
Seeing the combined impact a dedicated group of people like this can have on a community is a powerful motivator to get involved and stay engaged.

TD StairClimb
November 13, 2024 | Budweiser Gardens
For almost 3 decades, every November, thousands of people from hundreds of workplaces, organizations and schools have come together to take on the challenge of climbing over 450 stairs to show their local love. Teams have a great time while raising money in the largest single fundraiser for social services in our region, to help local people get through tough times and improve their lives. Over the years, StairClimb has raised over $2.8 million for our community.
This year the TD StairClimb for United Way is back at Budweiser Gardens to tackle the lower bowl! Fun pre-climb activities, a high energy warm-up, radio broadcasting live on location, and a challenging 480 stairs to climb with your team – it our biggest event of the year! We look forward to welcoming 2,000 participants including local mascots, cheer squads and special guests!

Share the Love
February 1-28, 2025
Share the Love is the 50/50 lottery for United Way. It’s a fun chance to win a cash prize and help support local social programs and services in our community.
Proceeds stay 100% local. Always.
When you win, we all win. Just like every 50/50 lottery, the winner takes home half, and the charity takes home half. United Way will use Share the Love 50/50 lottery proceeds to fund many social programs and services right here at home. We work to give everyone a fair shot at their best life.
